Overview

This project is a smart, AI-powered content platform that enhances reading, learning, and research by transforming books into interactive digital experiences. Users can purchase individual books or access content through subscriptions, with each book enriched by images and an intuitive reader interface.

The platform enables readers to engage more deeply with content through AI-driven conversations, allowing users to interact with a language model that responds in the style of the writer or book author. Alongside this, the system provides a full-featured digital book reader, including bookmarks, highlights, progress tracking, and content analysis.

Project Results & Impact

  • Built a complete Book Reader experience, including bookmarks, highlights, reading progress, AI conversations, and analysis features.
  • Developed a custom Python library to process and work with EPUB location objects and content structure.
  • Integrated Shopify for commerce and subscriptions, and Klaviyo for marketing automation.
  • Implemented and fine-tuned LLM integrations (OpenAI, Gemini, Groq) to deliver accurate, context-aware responses aligned with author style.
  • Designed a scalable architecture and integrated AWS-based secure file storage to support future growth.
  • Reworked and extended the EPUB 3.3 specification to generate enriched, interactive EPUB files.
